In a recent address to the GRAMMY Northwest MusicTech Summit 2008, Ian Rogers of Topspin made a very strong point about the connection between musicians and fans. In fact, the concept was the cornerstone of his talk about the changes facing the business of music.

I think Ian made some great points that many artists, including many of those on Localtone Radio have known for some time, the days of the big “label deal” as a key to lasting succes is not necessarily the only way to making a living creating and playing the music you love.  Check out the text of his presentation here.
